what are the affiliate links?

Tuesday Feb 23, 2010

what are the affiliate links? hwat does it mean when the guide of a website for submitting articles does not accept affiliate links?

To clarify, affiliate links are links to some sort of store or service, that were placed by a someone acting as a salesman who receives a commission from that store for sales or leads.

Affiliate links are identified by an affiliate I.D. code added to the address: an affiliate of TeddyBearPlace.com may provide the link: TeddyBearPlace.com?af=Wg6fgH6J32.

Yahoo Answers rules imply a prohibition of affiliate links: "it is not OK to post links that are unrelated to the topic or are clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and financial gain." Good answers citizens use the Report Abuse button to help reduce the proliferation of affiliate links.

To comply with an affiliate prohibition, an affiliate will create their own intermediate site or web page to submit to the article site, perhaps: TeddyBearLover.com that indirectly sends them to the store.

Certain devious browser add-ons actually identify when an affiliate link has been clicked, and will substitute the add-on maker’s affiliate code in place of the one the user had clicked, therefore stealing the commission.

I joined to be an affiliate with a company and on there site there are two links to use.. "affiliate link" and?

Monday Feb 8, 2010

"affiliate link with campaign ID" which link do I put on my website to get the commission? what is the difference in the two? Anyone out there familiar with this affiliate stuff?

I am guessing that the affilaite link is for most people but if you want to track the earnings from different campaigns (Adwords, Organic, Links from a particular website for example) then you would use the second of the two links.

Can I use google adsense on ezine articles and can I advertise affiliate links?

Sunday Dec 27, 2009

I use Google ad sense on hubpages but also heard ezine was good but wanted to know If I could use affiliate links and make use of Google ad sense

You cannot run adsense on ezine articles but you can advertise your affiliate link discreetly in your bio box.

You might want to try squidoo which is similar to hubpages.

How do you make money as a poker affiliate?

Saturday Sep 26, 2009

What are the most important things to consider before becoming a poker site affiliate? How do you get traffic? (Please no affiliate links!!)

You get paid by getting players to sign up at a site. You can get a one time payment, or some sites let you collect a percentage for the life of the players rake. The best ways to promote are through your own website, friends, family, business cards, and flyers. You can make thousands of dollars each month, but it is very hard work. Develop a strategy, and then put your plan in action.

What worked best for me is a website and Real Casino poker chips that are custom printed for free by the site I promote. I pass them out all day long, and get about 5 real players a day signing up. If you need anymore information please let me know.

is there a affiliate links free stock market forum where i can get some genuine help regarding stocks, charts?

Monday Sep 21, 2009

i have tried to work on multiple forums, but it seems the forum owners always try to make me signup for one thing or another, is there a simple place where i can get some genuine information and help without all that affiliate stuff we see all the time?

it’s difficult that you will get a forum where there are no affiliate links, however there are some rare forums which are offshoot of the main site, that is why they don’t need to have a lot of affiliate links to the site, moreover they are more or less a very tightly knit community.

and people actually try to help there.

Redirecting Affiliate Links (Slickdeals, Fatwallet,etc)?

Sunday Sep 20, 2009

I want to offer visitors of my site a small deals feed widget in the same spirit of Slickdeals, Fatwallet, and other deal aggregators. I was wondering if someone knew the process of their server script?

I have text links for merchants, and basically I want to link deep within the merchants site. Right now, which is a slow and cumbersome way, I call a perl file that prints an invisible iframe with the merchants link and a javascript redirect to the deeper page.

Also, it would be helpful to know if this even works! Are the affiliates only based on cookies or is their session variable that needs to be sent through each page.

Thanks!

you’ve got so many options!

the worst way is http://myreddirectorsite.com?to=http://theaffilliatesite.com

the tiny url way is OK

http:shortcut

and let the perl shortcut program figure it out

a very good way to deal with trusted partners is just to share logs… they see how many hits you send them , and you see what they got!

then there’s the double ajax trick, where you just use <a href="http:theaffiliate.com" class ="loggit">

and have bound the onclick for a’s with class loggit to do a little ajax call before you let the click go thru!

I’ve done them all… I like the double ajax trick best!
