One of my friends said that affiliate marketing is a great source to earn an extra source of income. What is the affiliate marketing actually means?

As an online marketing professional since 1994 I agree with your friend - you can definitely earn extra money doing affiliate marketing. There are lots and lots of really neat products you can offer on your website to sell. I only offer things I like myself that I have personally checked out very thoroughly first.

The first thing you’ll want to do is to get a bit of simple education on the subject. After a huge amount of personal research and a lot of disappointments, I took an online course offered by a top affiliate marketing pro and I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with what I learned.

This would be my advice - first do a simple course, and from there, that will give you the direction to go in which will work for you personally.

You need to get links to your website out on the internet. The best way to do that is through article marketing — and it doesn’t cost anything either. Hi if you are like me and are new to this sort of thing you will find every one is trying to sell you something that’s the name of the game you have to pick your self a mentor and stick with it there are plenty of them out there just have little faith and try pick one

If you are just starting out and don’t have a budget to get a domain name and hosting then I would suggest doing a combination of building websites on places like wordpress.com and also submitting relevant articles on places like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and more. This should be a good start to help you learn more about internet marketing as it takes awhile to get used to all of the tips and tricks involved to make a large profit. I have personally known people who are making $100+ a day without having their own website which isn’t huge money but to many it is a great extra income.

I’m aware of all the data entry and Google scams, but can you make money with affiliate marketing? What are the most effective methods?

If you think you are going to make money in affiliate marketing, thousands of people have found the opposite.

If you work several hours a day, six days a week, you may make a few hundre dollars a monrh , but even that’s not guaranteed. If I was looking to make money in affiliate marketing, I would hire my own employees to do it. Better yet, I would "hire" people who want to make fortunes in on-line marketing.

NO, this is MLM at its worst. You will not make money posting links yourself. You make money getting others to do the work for you. They’re called your downstream, and it takes a LOT of time and effort to make enough money to make any real money for yourself. And you can’t do it with an investment of $200.00 and then watch the money come rolling it.

MLM is not about selling a product or service. It’s about getting other people to sell your products or services for a fraction I would of what I would have to pay my own employees.

Forget about the Ferrari and the mountain chalet. Thinks about the Fiat (high mileage and heavy maintainence and thnik about a deapidated cabin.
