I cannot find on their website what the rate of pay is. And do you know of any other affiliate programs you can put on your website? Thanks for answering.
Would Adsense be worthwhile? It depends on a lot of factors and how you turn those factors to benefit you. I earn 5-digits a month from Adsense so it is DEFINITELY WORTHWHILE for me. If you’re earning pennies from the program, then either you don’t know how to maximize it or your site is better suited to run a different type of program
You won’t know how much is the per click amount because the amount depends on the bid placed by the advertiser.
Aside from the bidding, there is what is called smartpricing that adjusts the price paid by the advertiser depending on the nature of the page. No one knows how this actually works. But it can affect the pricing of the ads on your site. If the advertiser paid for $0.50/click - but your site is smartpriced - then the cost may be discounted lower (e.g. $0.25). So you may try to develop a site based on high paying keywords but if smartpricing gets to you, then you may not get as much per click as what you are expecting from your keywords.
Here is Google’s explanation of smart pricing https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=9562&query=smart+pricing&topic=0&type=f
In terms of earning money on Adsense, your mileage varies. One website with 10,000 uniques a day can earn $50 a month while another may earn $5,000. It is not easy to predict how much you will earn from Adsense. The only way you can learn about how your site will perform with Adsense is through trying it.
Adsense is not like other affiliate programs when you know how much exactly you will earn.
If you are looking for affiliate programs, here are some places to look
Commission Junction http://www.cj.com
Clickbank http://www.clickbank.com
Linkshare http://www.linkshare.com

Hi everyone, at my last job I did not officially have a title. I am looking to look for a new job soon. Basically I did some Pay Per Click bidding using Adwords, I did hands on SEO, I also coordinate with the graphics designer to design newsletter and send it out to my list, and also start up an affiliate program. Also did some analytics reporting. I am not sure what title I should use on my resume. In addition, I will have my web analytics certification from the Web Analytics Association. What type of salary should I get? I’m in Manhattan.
Thanks!
I am not sure about the salary - but sounds a lot like my old job
My title was Online Marketing Exec and my profile read: "Responsible for SEO (Organic Search), Paid Search, Emarketing and Affiliate Strategies"

For example:
A publisher launches a site about dogs. The publisher invites freelance writers to contribute stories about certain dog types. Instead of paying the writers for the stories up front, the publisher pays the writers a percentage of the revenue that their stories generate. Revenue is generated by pay-per-click (PPC) ads such as Google Adsense, cost per thousand (CPM) ads such as banner ads, and affiliate programs, such as the one offered by Amazon. Are there services that facilitate this arrangement?
Good idea, have never seen anything like this.

If you could have any website with ADSense on any subject to make money, which subject would make the most money and why?
the website would have the following items: automatic turnkey-no maitence- advertising -Affiliate programs - Adsense - Pay Per Click - Sell Your Own Products
Adult products .. for some sick reason you can make a lot of money in that line …
GOod Luck!

I want to learn about making money off web sites. I already know about affiliate programs, cost per click, etc. I want to know if there are advertisers who will pay based on the number of visitors your site receives.
It depends on a number of factors — how visible you are (e.g. is the media talking about you, are the blogs talking about you, etc), how desirable your target audience is, etc
If you want to be paid based on the number of visitors your site receives, then look for CPM campaigns (as opposed to CPC and CPA campaigns).
The easiest way — instead of waiting for advertisers to stumble on your site — is to join advertising networks. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them. Traffic requirement is often a minimum of 5,000 monthly impressions, although many do not accept sites hosted by free page services.
Burst Media http://www.burstmedia.com
Fastclick (ValueClick). http://www.fastclick.com
Advertising.com. http://www.advertising.com
Tribal Fusion http://www.tribalfusion.com
Joining these networks will give you more understanding on the price to charge, and how to best serve ads on your site. When an advertiser comes to you, you'll be more equipped to answer their questions
