It is very easy to generate and submit site map in search engines..
In google,yahoo & msn type "site map generator".Submit your url.after that you have find a xml site map.Download XML file and upload it on footer file…….

I have a handful of websites that i hosted for free, but i just cant make them show up on search engines , help?
For me , the domain names/ hosting has been free, hence the hosters haven’t offered any push in this regard.

This is a very good question, and it is a very good thing you checked before submitting all of your website’s pages.

Although it seems a bit counter intuitive, submitting each individual page of your website to search engines can often be interpreted as spam, and can end up hurting your website rather than helping it.
Submitting just your homepage but making sure to include links regularly in your content to other pages throughout your website can better improve the likelihood of your website’s pages being found. You can also add an HTML sitemap to your website to help improve your chances, or submit an XML sitemap directly to Google to better ensure that all pages are indexed.

Also, make sure that if you use SIlverlight, Flash, or Java navigation menus that you have text alternatives for each link, as search engines cannot fully understand Flash related content.

Another thing to consider when linking is anchor text. When linking to another page, don’t link the words "click here." Instead link a word or phrase that accurately describes the landing page of the link, such as "Product List" or "Photo Gallery."

How often do I need to submit my site to the major search engines? I keep seeing ads that promise to submit my website to thousands of search engines each month for around $20. Is it worth it?

definitely no?
one time page submission in search engine is enough. it will be indexed there permanently.

so if they say they will bring your website in top ten result of every search engine, then they are fraud. because

optimization starts from your page source, keywords used in your page, and your niche.

sometimes paid seo will be good comparing to own optimization.

A Few Questions - I have both a flash and HTML version of my website, but through the website platform I can only submit one version of my website, so I am wondering is it better to submit a flash version of the website or a html version of the website and why? Can google and other search engines even detect and read the content/text that I write into my flash website? Last question, on my website, instead of putting too much information on it, I used a pdf file for a price and information sheet with a link on the site to display the pdf in a web page…. do search engines read the pdf files where there is a link to the file on my site, and if so, does this still help or affect the sites page rank at all? Please don’t answer this question with a guess or your opinion, I am looking for answers to people who know about this from a personal or professional standpoint backed up by facts I can possibly see somewhere since I have a lot of money being invested into my website. HTML has the characteristics that search
engines are looking for. Flash will not let your
content be searchable by the engine.

Whatever content you place into a non-html
type document cannot be searched by an
engine.

Forget search engines straight away, yes they are important to get ranked in but will not help build traffic to your website, a few sites for you to look into and get started to promote your webiste
