I want to make a website about a location and that’s all I have right now. I would just write about the places that are their and stuff. But how do I turn this into a money making site when this idea is so vague???

Think about what your location has to offer. What would be a popular tourist site. Can you rent a car at this location? Are there any rental car companies in that location that are also online that also has an affiliate program.

Also check with the online ticketing companies like expedia, cheaptickets.com, orbitz, etc. If your location is a common enough place, you could sign up to their affiliate program and have a link to a page with great hotel rates, etc.

Adsense is another great way to get advertising revenue. You might want to experiment with using a bunch of these, but don’t go crazy on the ads. Make them part of your website but not all over your website; otherwise, it’s just too obvious you’re trying to sell somebody something.

I’ve helped many flrists skyrocket their sales simply by having a website.
Here is how I recommend you proceed.
1/. Keyword Research - identify the specific words that customers are typing in to the search engines and then optimise your site to include those words
2/. Article Marketing - Write (or have written) 10 articles on flowers and submit them to ezinearticles with a back link to your website.
3/. Spend no more than £10 per day on Google adwords (this is a very neat advertising program run by Google which will display your ads on many sites within your context)
4./ Get an autoresponder put on your site - this way you can communicate with your customers and inform them of any sales or special offers
